History of AMC 50/10, engine # EN 4/49/11:
--Sold new to Switzerland to Jos. Stierli Co. Zurich
--Sold to France circa 1970, participated 1973 and 1978 in the Le Mans Historic
--1984 sold to Germany
--2004 sold within Germany to 4th. owner.
--March 2007: Purchased by Autosport Designs
Condition:
--The DB1 is totally original and authentic and in good running order,
--Cosmetically, the car shows very nicely overall. Originally painted Dark Blue, it was repainted White very early on in its life time. Approximately 20 years ago it was repaint and still shows very well.
--One unfortunate crack on the passenger door and some cracking along the drivers side “A” pillar and the boot lid (**SEE PHOTOS).
--The chrome is very nice, not show but very presentable.
--The blue leather is in good condition, showing its age with typical patina but no tears or cracks. --Carpets nice, dash complete and original, all gauges and switches work.
--The Blue convertible top is in very good condition.
--Wire wheel are very nice with tires only two years old.
--The door and panel fit is extremely good for what is a hand built, 56 year old, antiquated automobile that has stood the test of time nicely.
--2000: Completely new wiring harness.
--2004-2005 rebuild of front and rear axle assemblies.
--2006 complete servicing, inspection, etc.
This DB1 Drophead is an extremely rare and important car with full documentation, exceptional provenance/ownership history having only four owners from new and history from day one. It is mentioned in detail in several Aston Martin books, has been serviced all of its life on a regular basis, drives extremely well and tight and is ready to be enjoyed.
