1950 war ein bedeutendes Jahr für viele namhafte europäische Automobilhersteller. Fünf Jahre nach dem Endes des zweiten Weltkrieges war es an der Zeit, komplett neukonstruierte Fahrzeuge vorzustellen. Europa war aufstrebend und wartete sehnlichst auf automobile Innovationen, hatten doch die bisher angebotenen Konstruktionen Ihren Ursprung noch in den 30er Jahren. Lancia präsentierte den Aurelia auf dem Turiner Automobilsalon in 1950. Zuerst als 4-türige Limousine, dann auch als Aurelia B 20 Coupé. Das elegante Coupé setzte als erster echter Gran Tourismo (GT) neue Maßstäbe. Die äußeren Abmessungen waren bescheiden und trotzdem bot der GT reichlich Platz für 2 + 2 und Gepäck. Die Fahrleistungen und die Fahreigenschaften waren harmonisch aufeinander abgestimmt. Das Modell war sehr erfolgreich und wurde in Lauf der Serie insgesamt 6 mal modifiziert. In Kennerkreisen gilt dieses Modell aus der 4. Serie technisch und ästhetisch als die schönste und kraftvollste Aurelia . Nachdem in der vierten Serie die neue DeDion Hinterachse verbaut war, begeisterte die Aurelia mit einem gutmütigen, weitgehend neutralen Fahrverhalten, auch in schnellen Kurven. Etwa 70% der Fertigung waren rechtsgelenkt, so wie das hier angebotene elegante Coupé auch. Das Styling der 4. Serie präsentierte sich nahezu vollendet. Die Karosserien lieferte Pinin Farina. Die von uns offerierte Aurelia wurde in einer umfangreichen Restaurierung vor mehreren Jahren, in einen traumhaften Zustand gebracht. Die Spaltmaße überzeugen durch feine Gleichmäßigkeit, der Lack hat einen enormen Tiefenglanz. Auf einer Probefahrt mit dem bisherigen Besitzer des Wagens, konnten wir uns von der erstklassigen Funktion des Wagens überzeugen. Man sitzt bequem, das Ambiente im Wageninneren ist fein und anmutend, der Pepitastoff wirkt elegant und sportlich zugleich. Selten findet man eine Aurelia B20 aus der 4. Serie, vielleicht ist sie ja Ihre Eintrittskarte für die nächste Mille Miglia.

1950 was a significant year for many well-known European car manufacturers. Five years after the end of the Second World War was the time to present completely newly constructed cars. Europe was aspiring to new levels and was ardently waiting for automotive innovations, since all other vehicles had their origin in the 1930s. Lancia presented the Aurelia at the Turin Automobile Salon in 1950; at first as a 4-door limousine and then as the Aurelia B 20 Coupé. The elegant coupé created new standards as the first real Gran Tourismo (GT). The outer measurements were moderate but the GT still had plenty of space for 2 + 2 and luggage. The driving performance and the handling characteristics were harmonized with each other perfectly. The model was very successful and was modified 6 times in the series. Amongst connoisseurs, this particular model from the 4th series is known as being the esthetically most beautiful and most powerful Aurelia. Once the new DeDion rear axle was included in the 4th series, the Aurelia enthused with its neutral handling, in fast bends. About 70% of the production was right-hand driven, as is this elegant Coupé. The 4th series’ styling presents itself in a virtual perfection. The car body was delivered by Pinin Farina. This particular model was extensively restored several years ago to a fantastic condition. The gap dimensions convince with their fine evenness, the paint has a tremendously deep shine. While test-driving with the previous owner, we were able to convince ourselves of the first-class functioning of this car. One sits comfortably, the atmosphere on the vehicle’s inside is particularly fine while the Pepita fabric appears simultaneously elegant and sporty. It is rare to find an Aurelia B20 of the 4th series, maybe it is your admission ticket to the next Mille Miglia.
