1954 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe
Registration No. 450 AML (Original first registration number)
Chassis No. 669094

William Lyons wanted a brand new sports car to replace the SS100 and to take on the competition of the likes of Ferrari and Aston Martin. The car that the design team at Jaguar's Browns Lane plant came up with was the legendary XK120, so-named for its advertised maximum speed of 120mph.

The 120 was manufactured by Jaguar between 1948 and 1954, the companies first post-war sports car. The XK120 was first launched in roadster or “Open Top Sports” form at the 1948 London Motor Show as a test bed and show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. It caused a sensation, which persuaded William Lyons to place it into production. The closed, or "fixed-head" coupé (FHC) was manufactured from 1951.

Our Jaguar was supplied new in January 1954 by Henley’s of London to Mr RG Lamont of Norwich. We understand that the car has had only 5 previous owners in the last 54 years prior to our company acquiring the car in 2008. Original registration book dated 1st January 1954 supplied with the cars history file together with Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
