| Riley 1,5 l. 12/4 Special 1936 Chassis 26F2798 started in 1936 life as a Riley Falcon and was subsequently transformed into a sports/racing special in the 60-ies. A German sportscar enthusiast bought this Riley Special in 1977 in the UK and started to use his sports-racing special in all sorts of pre-war racing events as well as an enjoyable sportscar on the road. 12 years ago my Belgian customer and classic car friend Willy Swaelens started a complete rebuild and detailed racing preparation on this Riley and turned this sports/racing special into a "little bomb". At pre-war race meetings in Francorchamps (B), Montlhéry (F), Val de Vienne (F), Vernasca (I), etc... he proved over and over again that his Riley Special was absolutely "up to it", obtaining regularly podium places and constantly battling "shoulder to shoulder" with Bugatti's GP racers. This specific Riley Special, which is a direct descendant of the famous Riley Brooklands and TT Sprites, convincingly demonstrates that the pre-war Riley engineering in general and the famous twin-cam 1,5 liter engine specifically were "state of the art" technology in their time. This well prepared Riley Special comes with Belgian registration documents and a FIVA ID card (category A/3) + a history file containing many photos from this sports/racing special at race events all over Europe. Price : 73.500 euro
