Trade-in car. The Porsche 912 is a sports car from the German car manufacturer Porsche. The appearance of the car was designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche also called "Butzi", son of Ferry Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the Porsche brand.
The Porsche 912, a four-cylinder, came onto the European market in April 1965. The 912 in the export version was presented later in 1965 (model year 1966). This model would be a great success. The 912 coupe was built by coachbuilder Karmann and Porsche. This was two years after the start of production of the 911. Externally, this car cannot be distinguished from its bigger brother, the Porsche 911. Because the purchase price of the 912 was also lower than that of the 911, Porsche offered the many loyal fans of the Porsche 356 the opportunity to continue driving a Porsche.
This periodically correct four-cylinder engine accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 185 km/h with precise transmission shifts. Thanks to the lighter engine, the handling of the 912 was considerably better than that of the first 911s. Despite the many critics, the 912 was an absolute success at its launch and it now has many loyal enthusiasts, partly thanks to its better balance. Now that the 911s are really reaching new heights, interest in 912s has been steadily increasing in recent years. This well-preserved example is an excellent and affordable opportunity to enjoy an early short-wheelbase Porsche! Our 912 is a short wheel base version or a 912 SWB.
The bodywork with its beautiful classic color and appearance of our 912 SWB is completely original and in very good condition, the body is absolutely free of rust and the sheet metal is nice and thin with correct fits. All chrome moldings are also in very good condition. The black upholstery of the seats, rear seats and doors is neat and the same applies to the carpeting. Looking at the bigger picture, an easy way to get into a Porsche 912 that is ready for decades of Porsche driving pleasure.
