Beschreibung

This particular 1937 BMW 328 has a very interesting history since it was bought new in June 1937 by Carl Max von und zu Sandizell of Sandizell, Germany (Bavaria) which is confirmed by the BMW Group Classic Certificate. The Sandizell family is one of the very oldest families in Germany. Graf (Count) Sandizell is noted in the Rainer Simons authoritative book ‘BMW 328’ as having been a privateer racer working with Ernst Loof in the BMW Racing Department in 1937( see pp 134). Count Sandizell was later to become President of the German Auto Racing Association and also the German Director of the FIA.

Count Sandizell achieved at least 5 gold medals with his 328 (First Place finishes) in the period 1937-38 and many of these results are listed in the Rainer Simons 328 book in the lists of Competition Successes (pp 318-320).
