Chassis No. A-A2S7-654224A

Built for Ben Schuckburgh by Mono Sport and CKL, over £60,000 was lavished on the car during its comprehensive "no expense spared" upgrading process. Starting with the engine, one was built by Kent Auto Developments (KAD) with the ultimate in performance parts, including dual SU carburetors, MSD ignition, and a larger alternator. The latest dyno sheet from 2020 shows that the car was making a zesty 128 horsepower at 7,650 rpm. An APR Racing clutch master cylinder and upgraded transmission send power to the 10-inch Minilite-style wheels with Dunlop Racing tires. An APR Racing brake master cylinder works with front disc brakes to bring the Mini to a stop in short order. With numerous performance upgrades, equal care and attention were given to the car's safety system. This included the installation of a 29-liter Mondo Sport fuel cell, a Corbeau bucket seat, and a fully welded roll cage.

Ready for its first lap around the track, the car was sanctioned to wear the legendary two-tone blue and white livery of the historic Scottish racing team, Ecurie Ecosse. Under current ownership, the Mini has been raced with the Classic Sports Car Club and, previously, with the Historic Sports Car Club, and most notably at the historic Goodwood Revival. A requirement to enter these races is a FIA Historic Technical Passport, which remains valid for racing, hill climbing, and rallying. Though the Passport is set to expire on 31 December 2026, it will greatly ease the renewal process for its next caretaker.

Proven over numerous races, this Mini race car has earned its reputation as an exhilarating performer in competition thanks to its no expense spared build. Utilizing some of the most well-regarded names, combined with an iconic historic livery, it is surely one of the most compelling examples of its type currently on offer. With the added benefit of U.K. road registration and eligibility for numerous historic racing events, the possibilities with this exceptional Mini are nearly endless, making it an ideal addition to any serious historic racer's stable or discerning competition-focused collection.
